Now it’s official: Samsung postpones the launch of the Galaxy Fold . The company wants to eliminate the problems with the display before the folding smartphone is released. Unfortunately there is no new date for the market launch yet.

Samsung takes the critical voices to the faulty screen of the foldable smartphone by his own admission very seriously. “To fully evaluate this feedback and do more internal testing, we decided to postpone the release of the Galaxy Fold,” the company said, according to the Android Authority. The company plans to announce the new release date “in the coming weeks”.

Folding mechanism with problems

As is customary in the smartphone industry, Samsung initially provided the Galaxy Fold to some experts and journalists. Thereupon appeared several reviews that discuss problems with the display . For example, one tester reports a bump in the screen – after only one day of use. The manufacturer himself also speaks in his current opinion of a possible defect in the joints.

First rumors about a delay of the Galaxy Fold there was about the Easter weekend of 2019. Now, at least, the prospective buyers have the certainty that they still have to wait a little – and that Samsung cares about the problems. The manufacturer had presented the folding smartphone together with the Galaxy S10 end of February . Originally it should be available in the spring of this year for the price of just under 2000 euros.
